Editor’s Letter
NPC Props Vol. 03 Secret Base Tree House and Red Door Psyduck make the setting immediately recognisable. Slifer the Sky Dragon offers a more forceful landmark through the creature’s own outline.
Read the full letterClose letter
The tree house offers a place rather than another isolated pose, with its roof, openings and bark texture inviting a closer look. Psyduck makes a scene with less architecture: the door alone explains the gesture. Pirate figures and larger creatures create stronger vertical interruptions, so we would use them selectively around those quieter settings. A shared base is most useful when it explains why its figures belong together. Give that relationship a clear viewing position, allowing the group to remain one subject instead of several unrelated objects crowded onto the shelf.
Chapter 01
Small places: Tree House, Psyduck & Ditto
A door, a house or a recognisable prop can establish a setting with very few elements. These Pokémon pieces use that economy in different ways.
NPC Props Vol. 03 Secret Base Tree House
NPC Props Vol. 03 Secret Base Tree House makes architecture the main subject. Sculpted bark, layered greenery and a curved roof canopy give the structure an organic outline. Openings in the trunk invite a closer look through the scene rather than concentrating every detail on the front surface.
We would use it as a low environmental anchor for a Pokémon group. The surrounding creature pieces can remain independent accents instead of needing equally elaborate bases. The appeal lies in having a recognisable place at the centre of the collection; it is worth choosing only if the house itself is as interesting to you as another character figure.
Best for: an environment-led Pokémon group with space around the structure

Pirate silhouettes: Garp, Kaido & Doflamingo
Strong clothing and weapon shapes keep a figure readable even before the base comes into view. The surrounding scenes reinforce those principal gestures.
Young Garp the Fist — Monkey D. Garp
Young Garp the Fist places the figure above red energy effects with the raised fist carrying the action. The long coat opens around the body, keeping the upper silhouette distinct. Two head sculpts and a swappable bust give the character different expressions and a separate display format.
Choose the full figure for its gesture or the bust for a concentrated portrait. Kaido and Doflamingo offer different costume and weapon outlines nearby, so the recognisable character shape is the useful starting point.
Best for: a pirate display organised around a clear upper-body gesture

Creature landmarks: Slifer, Majin Buu & Chainsaw Dad
A large creature outline and a compact shared base can both act as landmarks. Their strength comes from reading as one complete subject within the wider shelf.
Slifer the Sky Dragon
Slifer the Sky Dragon uses a coiling body, open wings and a dual-jaw head to build a continuous creature silhouette. Egyptian ruins and broken terrain support the lower form. The product offers a deep crimson palette or a warmer red-to-amber treatment, changing how the wing surfaces read.
We would leave a clear background behind the head and wings, because the creature’s outline is the main attraction. The ruins should remain supporting scenery. That makes this a useful contrast with the small paired figures in the gallery, where a shared base and the relationship between companions carry more of the meaning than the outer silhouette.

Contained settings: Akaza, Pieck & Misaki
A single action or a familiar interior prop can establish the whole scene. The supporting surface matters because it explains the figure’s position.
Akaza
Akaza’s extended fist directs the blue impact effect forward, giving the scene an immediate point of focus. The jagged base and surrounding motion remain subordinate to that gesture. Two head sculpts offer an open face or a masked alternate, changing the character’s expression without changing the action.
This is our choice when the shelf needs one concentrated attack pose. It differs from a large confrontation because the implied opponent remains outside the composition. We would preserve room in front of the fist and avoid placing another busy effect directly in its path, allowing the intended direction to stay clear.
Best for: a focused attack gesture with a clear line of movement

Let the tree house establish the place.
NPC Props Vol. 03 Secret Base Tree House is our lead choice for an environment-led Pokémon collection. Red Door Psyduck provides a smaller scene with a similarly direct idea.
Slifer the Sky Dragon offers a stronger creature outline; Garp supplies a character-led vertical accent. We would choose one environmental anchor and one contrasting silhouette before adding further scenes around them.
A clear place and a clear silhouette make useful neighbours.
