CHARACTER ORIGIN
Calcifer is the sharp-tongued fire demon at the heart of Hayao Miyazaki's 2004 animated film Howl's Moving Castle, itself adapted from Diana Wynne Jones's beloved novel. Bound to the castle's hearth by a secret contract with the wizard Howl, he spends the film crackling with personality — equal parts grumpy and genuinely warm — powering the castle while quietly longing for freedom. LongMeow Studio x Lucky Studio reimagine him here in their own original interpretation: freed from the fireplace at last, fully reclined on a beach lounger, sunglasses on, surfboard at the ready — the ultimate off-duty fire demon.
