Editor’s Letter
This week’s strongest displays give the setting as much character as the figure: Orbis Tower and Blood Battle Series 03 Rukia Kuchiki lead that approach. Formal Attire Subaru Natsuki supplies an uncluttered counterpoint.
Read the full letterClose letter
Time Studio turns a tower into a collection of small scenes, while Blood Night Studio lets Rukia’s pale effects expand around her controlled stance. Those two approaches make the environment part of the subject. Subaru needs far less scenery because the crossed-leg pose and loosened tie already give the portrait a distinct attitude. The smaller pieces earn their place through equally clear ideas. Rowlet lifts a Poké Ball into a simple, readable silhouette; the baby Digimon share an egg-shell format without losing their individual shapes. There is room for both an elaborate scene and a modest character marker here. The strongest combinations balance that difference instead of making every figure compete to dominate the shelf.
Why Now
01
Rukia in the current BLEACH campaign
BLEACH’s anime news page announced Mirrors High preregistration on September 10, naming Rukia in the campaign and linking a Rangiku trailer. That gives this issue’s contrasting BLEACH portraits a timely connection to the characters.
02
A Subaru-focused episode
The Re:Zero anime site published the synopsis for episode 82, “Natsuki Subaru,” on September 8. Subaru’s formal-attire portrait offers a quieter character study alongside this episode-focused news.
03
A new Monster Hunter trailer
Dated September 3, Capcom’s PlayStation Blog post introduced a new trailer for Monster Hunter Wilds: Ascendance. The news supplies broader franchise context for Odogaron; the sculpture is selected for its compact, forward-driving pose.
Chapter 01
Quiet portraits: Subaru, Rangiku & Frieren
Seated and standing portraits can hold attention without surrounding effects. Frieren, Rangiku and Subaru offer different ways to build a character group around posture, clothing and the relationship between figure and base.
Formal Attire Subaru Natsuki — Re:ZERO
Aurora Studio’s Formal Attire Subaru Natsuki makes posture the focus. A white shirt, dark waistcoat and trousers create a restrained formal silhouette, while crossed legs and a loosened tie soften the presentation. One hand rests in a pocket; the other draws the tie aside. The low, angular base keeps the figure visually grounded without adding a large scene.
This 1/6-scale portrait works as a quieter companion to the effects-led pieces in the next chapter. The base carries restrained scrollwork, giving the setting a little detail without competing with the outfit. Dimensions are not specified in the listing.
Best for: a relaxed formal portrait with a restrained display base

Effects pieces: Rukia, Frieza & Infernape
Rukia leads a group where the space around the figure matters. Pairings, flame trails and contrasting environments deserve consideration alongside the character, particularly when a base or an effect extends beyond the central pose.
Blood Battle Series 03 Rukia Kuchiki — Bleach
Blood Night Studio’s Rukia balances a controlled standing figure against a broad sweep of translucent frozen forms. Dark rubble and a purple ring set off the pale upper design; the diagonal blade pulls the composition out beyond the figure. The contrast is the appeal: a still center held inside an expansive scene.
The listed dimensions are 43 cm high, 26 cm wide and 30 cm deep. This is the group’s clearest choice for a dedicated character centerpiece, while Frieza and Infernape offer warmer environmental contrasts. A removable lower plinth changes the presentation; the listing provides only one set of dimensions.
Best for: a character-led centerpiece with room around its effects

Shelf markers: Orbis Tower, Frieren & Rowlet
A setting can be the centerpiece, while a small figure can serve as a clear accent. Orbis Tower makes that distinction especially useful: its separate levels let you choose how much environment to commit to.
MapleStory Orbis Tower Three-Level Diorama
Time Studio opens Orbis Tower into platforms, ladders, arched passages and small character scenes. Snow, crystals and the winged group at the summit distinguish the levels while pale masonry ties them together. The result invites a closer look through the structure, rather than a single reading of a character’s pose.
Versions A, B and C contain individual levels; Version D combines all three. The complete set is listed at 97.5 cm tall with a 34 by 34 cm footprint. Individual levels make a smaller scene possible without losing the tower’s architectural identity. This is our choice when the setting deserves the main shelf.
Best for: a shelf where the environment can become the main subject

Orbis Tower gets the main shelf.
MapleStory Orbis Tower Three-Level Diorama is our lead pick for an environment-led collection. The open architecture and separate levels make the setting worth looking into, not just looking at. Blood Battle Series 03 Rukia Kuchiki is the stronger choice when one character should remain the center of an effects scene.
For a smaller addition, 30th Go! Vol. 3 Rowlet makes the clearest statement with the fewest elements. Its raised Poké Ball and rounded silhouette give it a distinct role beside either larger display. These are three different recommendations: an architectural scene, an effects-led character and a compact accent.
Orbis Tower for the setting, Rukia for the character, Rowlet for the accent.

Nothing we'd recommend this week
No R18-labelled products or mature-section product links belong to this issue’s original set. The two standard-gallery display restrictions do not turn those figures into separate R18 candidates.
Gallery placement and mature-column eligibility are different editorial decisions.
