No-Face (Kaonashi) is one of the most quietly haunting figures in Hayao Miyazaki’s 2001 film Spirited Away — a spirit of pure longing who drifts through the bathhouse absorbing the desires and personalities of those around him. His most memorable arc sees him swallowing gold and chaos alike, desperately seeking connection with the young Chihiro, who is the only one to see past his hunger to something gentle beneath.
