Issue No. 20 · Cover: MapleStory Login Tree Series Vol. 2

Editor’s Letter
Fatalis and Dragonite Family: Dragonite, Dragonair and Dratini show how different creature groups can define a setting. Bronze Lich King offers a more direct character silhouette beside those environments.

The login-tree structure gives this issue its most explicit sense of place, with a bridge and mushroom houses worth looking into independently of the figures. Fatalis uses a much smaller collection of elements, letting the wings and fire establish the scene. The Dragonite group makes the relationship between evolutionary forms the subject. We would choose among these approaches by asking what the environment adds after the character is recognised. Architecture can invite exploration, a contained base can reinforce a creature’s outline, and a shared effect can connect several figures. The larger confrontations and theatrical portraits in the gallery extend those ideas in different directions. They are most useful when the surrounding world is something you want to keep seeing, rather than simply more material around a favourite character.
Why Now
01
Jujutsu Kaisen’s anniversary setting
The July 23 Yokohama announcement placed Jujutsu Kaisen characters across a city-wide collaboration. It is a timely franchise reference beside Hakari’s self-contained domain scene, whose appeal lies in its constructed environment.
02
A new entry point for Monster Hunter
The August 5 report described a free prologue demo for Monster Hunter Wilds. It supplies a recent franchise touchpoint for Fatalis; it does not establish that this monster or statue appears in the demo.
03
A dated HUNTER×HUNTER chapter
VIZ’s official chapter list dates chapter 417 to August 9. The new chapter gives the Gon and Killua portraits a current series reference, without assuming either character appears in that particular instalment.
Chapter 01
Built worlds: Login Tree, Remielle & Gon
Architecture and familiar props can establish a place before the characters are considered. These settings create a useful contrast with the more effects-led scenes that follow.
MapleStory Login Tree Series Vol. 2
MapleStory Login Tree Series places a suspended wooden bridge between mushroom houses and the tree environment. A menu sign makes the login-screen reference part of the structure. The setting remains readable as a place even before the optional figures are added.
The listed dimensions are 37.5 cm high, 36 cm wide and 26 cm deep. Versions A and B use Simplified or Traditional Chinese menu signs; Version C is a four-character DLC, with designs subject to revision. We would choose the environment and sign first, then decide whether the additional characters are wanted to populate the bridge.
Best for: an architectural game setting that can lead the display

Creature scenes: Fatalis, Dragonite & Luffy
A winged body, an evolutionary group and a confrontation each create a different relationship with the base. The scene should explain why its subjects share the space.
Fatalis
Fatalis spreads its wings above a rocky base with flame effects. The removable magnetic mouth flame offers a change in presentation without replacing the whole setting. The dragon remains the main subject, with the surrounding fire reinforcing its outline rather than introducing a separate cast.
The listed dimensions are 22 cm high, 25.5 cm wide and 13.5 cm deep. We like this as a contained creature scene beside the broader login environment. The wings still need a clear background, but the footprint supports a more focused display decision than the large confrontation pieces in the same issue.
Best for: a contained dragon display with an optional flame gesture

Directed power: Yamamoto, Lich King & Obanai
Flames, a long sword and coiling effects can extend a character’s gesture. The supporting forms are strongest when their direction remains connected to the figure.
Ryujin Jakka Genryusai Shigekuni Yamamoto
Ryujin Jakka Genryusai Shigekuni Yamamoto places the sword-bearing figure over scorched ground and skeletal remains. Flames connect the body with the lower setting, giving the whole scene a consistent visual language. The dark costume remains a clear centre within the warmer effects.
The listed height is 38 cm, with a width of 28.5 cm and depth of 25 cm at 1/6 scale. A bonus flame part is planned, and the listing also notes a production adjustment to the base mounting. We would choose the visible figure-and-fire composition without treating those planned changes as already completed features.

Choose the login tree for the place itself.
MapleStory Login Tree Series is our preference when architecture should become the main subject. The bridge and mushroom houses establish a recognisable world, and the character DLC can be considered separately. Fatalis is the more contained creature alternative.
Dragonite Family: Dragonite, Dragonair and Dratini offers a shared scene built around the relationship between forms. Yamamoto supplies a character-led effects display where the figure and scorched ground speak the same visual language. We would choose which kind of world the collection needs before comparing the size of the surrounding effects.
Architecture, habitat and effects should each explain the space they occupy.
