Editor’s Letter
Starry Moon Mew and Blood Manipulation Choso show why movement does not require the same amount of space. Skull Greymon makes the surrounding footprint a much larger part of the decision.
Read the full letterClose letter
Mew fits its visual idea into a crescent and a small cloud base. Choso extends the attack through red effects and a fractured lower setting. The skeletal creature reaches out through the tail and limbs, so the empty space around the body belongs to the composition too. We would use these differences to organise the shelf rather than grouping everything by a nominal scale. A compact accent can sit near the viewer, where its small details remain visible, while an extended body needs a clear outline further back. The character portraits in the gallery offer additional settings and props, but the main choice remains practical: how much surrounding room does the idea need to stay understandable, and where can that room be preserved without crowding the neighbouring pieces?
Why Now
01
A specific football connection
UEFA’s Norway guide, dated July 11, names Erling Haaland in its World Cup coverage. That gives the meditating football portrait a direct player reference alongside the fictional characters in this selection.
02
Yuta and Choso in a new collaboration
The official July 13 Monster Strike collaboration announcement names Yuta and Choso among its featured characters. Both appear in this issue, making the connection more specific than a general franchise anniversary.
03
Witch Hat Atelier crosses into another story
The official anime site announced a collaboration video with Ascendance of a Bookworm on July 5. Coco’s seated display brings a quieter character interpretation to this period of adaptation activity.
Chapter 01
Compact ideas: Mew, Cell & Haaland
A small base and one distinctive shape can be enough. These accents change the pace of a collection without requiring another large environment.
Starry Moon Mew
Starry Moon Mew places the figure with a gilded crescent, clouds and starlight details. A miniature Mewtwo tail charm adds a small secondary reference without turning the base into a crowded group. The curved moon gives the piece a clear boundary around its central subject.
The listed height is 10 cm. We like this for close viewing, where the curve and small charm can remain visible. It is not intended to replace the visual weight of a large scene. Its useful role is a lighter accent, with a recognisable outline that does not demand the same depth or surrounding clearance as the larger creatures.
Best for: a close-view Pokémon accent with a bounded curved setting

Directional scenes: Choso, Yuta & Coco
An effect, a companion or a surrounding structure can extend the figure’s direction. The main gesture should remain readable before the smaller scene details draw attention.
Blood Manipulation Choso
Blood Manipulation Choso uses red effects to extend the attack through a fractured, ink-wash-style base. The dark clothing gives the figure a defined centre while the surrounding forms carry the movement outward. The product offers a full-body version and a bust version as distinct display formats.
The listed scene measures 36 cm high, 32 cm long and 31 cm wide. We would choose the full figure for the extended gesture and compare the bust as a more concentrated portrait. The listing notes that the bust supports a matching Toji display; that pairing should be considered through the selected product options rather than assumed to be included.
Best for: a directional attack scene with a distinct portrait alternative

Extended outlines: Skull Greymon, Zhezhi & Lucy
A tail, a tall support or a vehicle can make the display extend beyond the figure. Those surrounding shapes deserve as much planning as the central body.
Skull Greymon
Skull Greymon spreads a skeletal body across a wide stance, with the tail extending the composition behind it. The open structure gives the creature a very different surface rhythm from a solid-bodied figure. Illuminated eyes are included, but the bones and long rear outline carry the main visual interest.
The Large version is listed at 40 cm high, 65 cm wide and 65 cm deep; Small is 23 by 38 by 36 cm. Without the assembled tail, the listed depths become 40 and 22 cm. We would plan for the complete tail rather than treating its removal as the normal display.
Best for: a skeletal creature with enough clearance for the full tail

Give Skull Greymon its outline.
Skull Greymon is our preference when the collection can preserve the full tail and open skeletal profile. Blood Manipulation Choso is the alternative when a more concentrated attack scene is wanted, with the red effects establishing a clear direction.
Starry Moon Mew provides the small counterpoint. Its crescent contains the idea without trying to compete with the reach of either larger composition. We would keep that difference intentional: a close-view accent in front, and the more extended scene where its outline can remain clear. The arrangement matters more than making every piece appear equally large.
Small details need proximity; extended silhouettes need clearance.
