SCENE NOTES
This is Bust Studio’s original design concept titled “Melancholy” — an interpretation of Asuka in a moment of unguarded quiet rather than combat tension. The choice to seat her in a heavily carved baroque throne plays the visual contrast deliberately: the grandeur of the chair against the subdued, almost withdrawn quality of her expression and posture. Her gaze is directed slightly downward and away, hands resting near her knee, which reads less as composure and more as containment. Bust Studio leans into the gothic aesthetic of the chair’s dark carved frame and deep crimson upholstery to amplify that emotional undertone, making the armchair as much a part of the character statement as the figure herself.
