CHARACTER ORIGIN
Jiji is the sardonic yet devoted black cat familiar in Studio Ghibli's beloved 1989 film Kiki's Delivery Service, directed by Hayao Miyazaki. Throughout the film, Jiji serves as Kiki's closest confidant as she navigates life as a young witch finding her independence in a new city. This piece captures the quieter, warmer thread of Jiji's story — his blossoming romance with Lily, the elegant white cat he meets in Koriko, and the family they build together, glimpsed in the film's closing moments as a tender counterpoint to Kiki's own coming-of-age.
