Character Origin
First described in 2002, Gumprecht’s green pit viper inhabits montane forests from northern Thailand and Laos across Yunnan (China) to northern Vietnam and Myanmar, stalking branches up to 1,500 m elevation. Males sport ruby eyes and a reversed two-tone post-ocular stripe—bright red over white—that sets the species apart from other Trimeresurus taxa. Arboreal by nature, the snake ambushes prey while draped over limbs, the scene this sculpt faithfully re-creates.
