    Cookie Studio’s Fortune Mouse Boh reimagines Boh in his mouse form as a Chinese New Year fortune icon, perched behind an oversized red wealth sack overflowing with gold ingots and coins, flanked by a pair of Susuwatari soot sprites. Sculpted in imported resin and PU at approximately 16 cm tall, the piece layers warm lacquer-red against Boh’s soft lavender-purple coat with gilded coin scatter across the base. It’s a compact display that earns its shelf space through the specificity of its concept — the joke lands only if you know exactly who this mouse used to be.

    SCENE NOTES

    Zeniba transforms Boh into a small mouse mid-film — a punishment that ends up being the making of him. Cookie Studio takes that mouse form and reframes it entirely through the lens of Chinese New Year fortune iconography: Boh becomes the wealth mouse, a figure of abundance rather than humiliation, hugging a bulging red fortune sack while the fuzzy Susuwatari soot sprites — the same species seen in My Neighbor Totoro, grown arms and legs for the bathhouse — keep him company at the base. The tonal pivot from Zeniba’s curse to a prosperity tableau is the whole point of the piece, and Cookie Studio commits to it fully through the warm color palette, the coin-scattered base, and Boh’s wide-eyed expression that reads more delighted than diminished.
