CHARACTER ORIGIN
Dr. Slump is Akira Toriyama's beloved 1980 manga and anime comedy set in the eccentric Penguin Village, following Arale Norimaki — a cheerful, impossibly strong android girl created by the hapless inventor Senbei Norimaki. Akane Kimidori is one of Arale's closest friends, a spirited and mischievous classmate whose boundless energy matches Arale's own. This piece captures the spirit of their ordinary-extraordinary days together: two troublemakers on a comically undersized Honda Motocompo, heading nowhere in particular and making the whole village nervous about it.
