Character Origin
Amatsu (also known as Amatsumagatsuchi) is an Elder Dragon from the Monster Hunter series, first introduced in Monster Hunter Portable 3rd. Revered as an “avatar of storms,” Amatsu manipulates weather, conjuring violent gales and lightning—its arrival is synonymous with catastrophic tempests. The monster returned in Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak Title Update 5, where it’s described by Capcom as “the powerful Elder Dragon that can manipulate the weather,” nicknamed the Looming Calamity.
