ABOUT
Toybirds Studio’s Gangster Arale captures the beloved android in her most deadpan disguise yet — black suit, fedora, cigar, and submachine gun rendered with crisp detail across a compact 5.6 cm frame. The second entry in the Arale Spring Outing series, it pairs perfectly with Vol. 01 and hints at a growing Penguin Village lineup worth watching. Small in scale, enormous in personality.
CHARACTER ORIGIN
Arale Norimaki is the cheerful android protagonist of Akira Toriyama's classic gag manga and anime series Dr. Slump, first serialized in 1980. Built by the bumbling inventor Senbei Norimaki, she is deceptively childlike in appearance yet possesses absurd, near-limitless strength — a contrast the series mines for endless comedy. Here, Toybirds Studio leans fully into that irony, dressing her in a sharp black mobster suit, wide-brimmed fedora, and cigar, submachine gun in hand — the ultimate visual punchline of innocence dressed as menace.
