CHARACTER ORIGIN
Son Goku, born Kakarot, is the central hero of Akira Toriyama's Dragon Ball franchise — a Saiyan warrior raised on Earth whose boundless will to grow stronger has defined the series across decades. This piece captures the single most pivotal transformation in the franchise: Goku's first Super Saiyan awakening on Planet Namek, triggered by the death of his closest friend Krillin at Frieza's hands.
