This is Toybirds Studio’s fourth entry in their Mashin Hero Wataru series — a compact, standing rendition of Shibaraku Tsurugibe rendered in their signature chibi-proportioned style, dual swords tucked at his hip and that unmistakable scowl locked in. At 8.5 cm paired with a Mega display base, Toybirds Studio sculpted the character’s stocky, wide-stance silhouette and wild spiked hair with a level of surface detail that punches well above what this scale typically delivers. As the fourth piece in a running series, this one makes the most sense in context — but it holds its own as a standalone portrait of the franchise’s resident dual-wielding samurai.

Toybirds Studio frames Shibaraku in his most recognizable off-duty posture — feet planted, arms loose, dual swords resting at the hip, and that permanent look of barely-contained irritation settled across his face. It's the version of the character collectors who grew up with the series will recognize instantly: not mid-battle, but the moment before, radiating the kind of gruff authority that made him the de facto adult anchor of the party. Toybirds Studio's sculpting decision to lean into the chibi silhouette actually works in the character's favor here — the exaggerated bulk and oversized head amplify Shibaraku's natural visual weight rather than diminishing it.
