    Saya is the enigmatic central figure of Saya no Uta (The Song of Saya), a Lovecraftian horror visual novel written by Gen Urobuchi and published by Nitroplus in 2003. To protagonist Fuminori Sakisaka โ€” whose perception of reality has been grotesquely warped following brain surgery โ€” Saya alone appears as a beautiful young girl in a white dress amid a world of nightmarish flesh. This figure captures that haunting duality: an innocent silhouette encircled by the eldritch tendrils that hint at what she truly is, evoking the moment Fuminori first encounters her as the sole point of beauty in his distorted world.
