CHARACTER ORIGIN
This is Done Studio's original design concept — not a direct scene pull — placing Mari in a coastal leisure setting that plays off the wave imagery already embedded in her name. The plugsuit version keeps the pilot identity front and center: the Unit-05 number on the back, the black panel cuts across the legs and torso, and the barefoot water-splash base all suggest a moment between missions rather than during one. DOne Studio frames the surfboard as an EVA-branded prop with purple-and-green graphic work that mirrors Unit-01's color language, creating a deliberate visual tension between Mari's characteristic lightness and the franchise's heavier iconography. The swimsuit configuration strips that tension away entirely, shifting the piece toward a different kind of character statement.
