CHARACTER ORIGIN
In Akira Toriyama's Dragon Ball, Master Roshi — the legendary Turtle Hermit and mentor to Goku and Krillin — enters the 21st World Martial Arts Tournament under the alias "Jackie Chun" to ensure his students don't grow complacent from an easy victory. Disguised with a wild wig and a stern demeanor that belies his usually lecherous personality, this is Roshi at his most focused and formidable, the moment he steps into the ring not as a comedic old man but as a martial arts master with something to prove.
