CHARACTER ORIGIN
Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Monsters is the landmark 2000 anime adaptation of Kazuki Takahashi's manga, following Yugi Muto — a mild-mannered teenager who harbors within him the spirit of an ancient Egyptian Pharaoh known as Atem. Together they duel using powerful monster cards, with Slifer the Sky Dragon standing as one of the three legendary Egyptian God Cards — a divine creature of near-limitless attack power whose strength scales with the number of cards in its master's hand.
