EA Studio’s Gown Version Rei Ayanami places her in a floor-length iridescent gown that pools and fractures across the base — an original design concept framing her not as a pilot, but as something altogether more unsettling and composed. Rendered at 1/6 scale in a PU and polystone composite, the piece spans 41 cm tall with a footprint wide enough to anchor the base as a sculptural element in its own right, with crossed Lance of Longinus replicas and an acrylic nameplate completing the display. At 188 units total across both versions, the edition is tight enough that the painted version in particular won’t be a shelf staple.

SCENE NOTESThis is EA Studio's original design concept — not a scene pull, but a deliberate reframing of Rei through the visual language of formal dress and quiet authority. The title "Sacred and Shattered" runs through every sculptural decision: the gown is simultaneously pristine and dissolving, its hem fragmenting into liquid-metal forms that merge with the base, suggesting something between composure and collapse. EA Studio positioned her in a seated lean, weight shifted and gaze level — not passive, not aggressive, but entirely self-contained. The crossed Lances behind her read less as weapons and more as relics, anchoring the piece's tension between the sacred and the broken without needing to resolve it.
