ABOUT
Spanning 60 cm wide and anchored by nearly 15 kg of imported polystone and PU, this diorama captures the Azure Dragon mid-ascent — its scaled body coiling around ancient rock while a lone scholar plays the guqin below, utterly unhurried. The interplay between the dragon’s cool cerulean scales and the warm wood tones of the instrument is the kind of paintwork that rewards every viewing angle. One of only 120 pieces worldwide, this is Chinese mythological artistry at monumental scale.
CHARACTER ORIGIN
The Azure Dragon (Qinglong) is one of the Four Symbols of Chinese cosmology, a celestial guardian of the East drawn from ancient mythological texts including the Classic of Mountains and Seas (Shan Hai Jing). Associated with spring, wood, and the color blue-green, it is among the most enduring divine creatures in East Asian cultural tradition. This piece presents JinWan Culture Tourism and ManRhythm Studio's original artistic interpretation — a scholar summoning the Azure Dragon through the music of his guqin, the dragon's immense form spiraling skyward in response to each note, a scene that distills the classical Chinese ideal of harmony between humanity, nature, and the divine.
