CHARACTER ORIGIN
Asuka Langley Soryu is the fiercely proud Second Child and pilot of Evangelion Unit-02 in Hideaki Anno's landmark 1995 series Neon Genesis Evangelion. Brilliant, combative, and deeply vulnerable beneath her bravado, Asuka defines herself entirely through her piloting — Unit-02 is not just her machine, it is her identity.
