Accompanying Steps — Lin & Chihiro Ogino captures the bathhouse floor-scrubbing sequence in a low-to-the-ground diorama: Lin braced on all fours, expression sharp and impatient, while Chihiro strains flat against the boards beside her. LAPUTA Studio built this piece on a solid black walnut wood base with resin figures, the grain and hand-engraved title plate doing real work as a display surface rather than an afterthought. Two figures, one plank, and a wooden bucket — the restraint of the composition is exactly what makes it land.
CHARACTER ORIGIN
This piece locks onto the early bathhouse shift — the moment Lin and Chihiro are assigned to scrub the floor together, with Lin making clear she has zero patience for a newcomer who doesn't know how to work. It's a small scene in the film's runtime but a load-bearing one: it's where the dynamic between the two characters actually forms, skepticism and all. LAPUTA Studio chose to stage it at floor level, keeping both figures horizontal and close to the base, which forces the viewer down to their eye-line rather than looking down at the piece. The wooden bucket sitting at the edge of the plank and the engraved title plate on the base surface treat the display as a continuation of the bathhouse floor itself.
