ABOUT

The fourth entry in miumiu Studio’s 30th Anniversary series pays tribute to the original 1996 Game Boy-era Pikachu — round, fierce, and unmistakably classic. Sculpted at 1/10 scale in PU with crackling translucent blue lightning effects and a gold-inscribed “Pokemon: 1996” nameplate, every detail is a deliberate act of nostalgia. Limited to just 99 pieces worldwide, this is a collector’s piece built for those who remember the moment it all began.

CHARACTER ORIGIN

Pikachu is the iconic Electric-type Pokemon from Game Freak and Nintendo's Pokemon franchise, first introduced in the original Pokemon Red and Green for the Game Boy in 1996 — the very year cited on this statue's nameplate. As the series mascot and Ash Ketchum's most trusted partner throughout the anime, Pikachu became a global cultural touchstone, its image inseparable from the handheld gaming era that defined a generation. This piece captures the original, rounder Game Boy-era Pikachu design — the chubby silhouette and fierce expression lifted directly from those early sprite battles, before the character's later redesigns slimmed him down.
