ABOUT

This is Time Studio’s three-dimensional take on Dad — the massive purple chainsaw-wielding figure from the Newgrounds Flash classics — rendered here at 30 cm tall with his son dangling from one fist and a blood-spattered chainsaw hoisted in the other. Time Studio grounds the piece on a heavily textured rocky base with multi-tone earth paint work, while the chainsaw motor housing receives its own gold-and-silver detail pass that reads sharply against the flat purple of the figure. Limited to 168 pieces, this is a tight edition for a character whose cult status in early internet gaming culture has only grown with time.

This piece captures Dad in his most iconic configuration: chainsaw up, son in hand, standing over broken ground like he owns it — the exact energy that made Chainsaw the Children and Dad ‘n Me stick in the memory of anyone who spent time on Newgrounds in the mid-2000s. The contrast between Dad’s casual, almost relaxed posture and the sheer violence implied by the blood-spattered blade is the whole joke, and it lands because the character shows himself as a capable, dangerous figure who nonetheless clearly cares about his own child. Time Studio leans into that tonal split by sculpting the son with a wide-eyed, slightly bewildered expression rather than a terrified one, keeping the dark comedy intact. The rocky base, with its layered earth tones and cracked surface detail, pulls the flat cartoon palette of the figure into three-dimensional space without losing Dan Paladin’s original design language.
