    Haramura Nodoka is a central character in Ritz Kobayashi’s mahjong manga and anime series Saki, appearing prominently in the Saki: The Nationals arc as a player for Kiyosumi High School. Known for her analytical, digitally honed playstyle and her attachment to a beloved stuffed penguin named Etopen, Nodoka’s calm exterior belies fierce competitive resolve. The “Kokowako” version depicted here reimagines her in an angelic, almost magical-girl form — wings unfurled, staff in hand — evoking the transcendent confidence she radiates when she enters her focused “online mode” at the table, where the world around her fades and only the tiles remain.
